EXPANDING TEAM AT VICKERS & BARRASS
Posted on 01 June 2020

Vickers & Barrass are pleased to welcome Alan Falshaw PgD FAAV ABIAC, as Farm Business Consultant to our team of diverse professionals.

Alan joins us with a wealth of experience. He is a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and an Associate of British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. He has previously run his own farming business and worked for a leading regional firm of consultants for the past 6 years.

Alan brings with him a thorough understanding of the agricultural industry in the North East and is keen to provide support to Vickers and Barrass’ clients on a range of matters.  From strategic business appraisals, budget preparation and funding briefs, for the raising of finance. Through to understanding the impact of the reduction in direct payments and how the new payments for public goods will impact on the profitability of farming businesses and how to help mitigate any negative effect this might have.

Alan has successfully completed a large number of Countryside Stewardship applications since the scheme was launched in 2016, which have benefitted the environment and helped by sourcing an additional income and implementing a scheme which is manageable within a modern farming business.

Alan is experienced in appraising diversification opportunities for rural businesses and applying for funding through avenues such as the Rural Development Programme England (RDPE). Along with providing the more traditional land agency skills such as landlord and tenant and utility company compensation claims.

Alan will be a welcome addition to the expanding team at Vickers and Barrass. The coming years will see a greatly changing agricultural industry in the United Kingdom and opportunities will present themselves to businesses who are well prepared and able to react to change quickly.

If any of the above is of interest, or you would like an initial free consultation please do not hesitate to contact Alan either by phone on 01388 730095 or 07425186127 or please send an e-mail to afalshaw@vickersandbarrass.co.uk
