The Countryside Productivity Small Grants Scheme has now opened its second round of funding. If you were granted funding in round 1 you may be eligible to apply for round 2, if you have not claimed more than £9000 in round 1. Round 2 is open between 9 July 2019 and midday on 3 September 2019.

The minimum grant available is £3000 and maximum grant is £12,000. This funding is available for a list of capital items found in the small grants handbook which are given standard costs and funding is available at 40% of this value.

The items available aim to support farmers in improving the below factors.

• technical efficiency

• animal health and welfare

• resource efficiency

• nutrient management

This round of funding has added 26 new items which are marked with the code R2 in the handbook to identify the new items.

In round 1 some people had difficulty getting hold of items due to increased demand caused by the scheme. Consequently, I would advise that if you are intending to apply for funding it is advisable to order the product soon after notification that you have been granted the funding.

You must be able to fund the purchase up front, as the grant will reimburse you once the item has been purchased and can be evidenced in place on site.

Below is a link to the handbook.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our offices if you would like to make an application or would like to have a chat about the scheme.
