OVERVIEW OF GRANT FUNDING THAT IS AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT RURAL BUSINESSES

Countryside Productivity Scheme (Large scale grants)

Water Resource Management (minimum of £35k, grants can cover 40% of the eligible project so the minimum cost would have to be £87,500)
To improve farm productivity through more efficient use of water irrigation and to secure water supplies for crop irrigation by the construction of on farm reservoirs.

Improving Forestry Productivity (minimum of £35k, grants can cover 40% of the eligible project so the minimum cost would have to be £87,500)
To improve forestry productivity through felling, extraction and adding value by primary processing of timber products.

Adding Value to Agri-food (minimum of £35k, grants can cover 40% of the eligible project so the minimum cost would have to be £87,500)
To improve the processing of primary agricultural products to shorten supply chains and deliver benefits to primary producers.

Improving Farm Productivity (minimum of £35k, grants can cover 40% of the eligible project so the minimum cost would have to be £87,500)
These grants are to improve farm productivity through the use of robotic equipment and systems to aid crop and livestock production. Increase the use of renewable energy produced on farm by improving energy storage and distribution.

LEADER (up to 40% grant funding)

Support for micro and small businesses and farm diversification, boost rural tourism, increase farm productivity, increase forestry productivity, provide rural services, provide cultural and heritage activities.
